A curriculum that sparks your child's natural curiosity to learn and explore
At Green Meadows, our Primary program is designed for preschoolers and kindergarteners ages 3 to 6 years old. When children enter our primary program, they are in the prime stage of development to interact with and explore the world around them. In our classrooms, we meet the needs of these young learners by providing opportunities to think critically and creatively, and problem-solve collaboratively. Our Curriculum, based on the Montessori education system in Celina, provides strong foundational skills that help children fall in love with learning as they develop and grow into lifelong learners.
Hands - on learning material with professional guidance
Children learn foundational skills by engaging in hands-on experiences with authentic, high-quality Montessori materials. With our expert guides providing individualized lessons based on the Montessori education system in Celina, your child will move towards independence in all areas of our classroom: practical life, sensory development, literacy, mathematics, and cultural studies.
This area of the Montessori classroom is where children will learn how to interact with their world through engaging in real life learning experiences. Children will become increasingly independent as they master both life skills and care of self strategies.
Children will engage with and learn through their five senses in the sensorial learning activities. Here they will explore the world around them by learning to pay close attention to visual, auditory, and spatial details. Taking part in activities that classify and categorize objects will help them to build upon their learning foundation.
A strong foundation in literacy is essential for academic success. Our Language Arts program nurtures confident students who are excited to learn to read and write. When a child shows interest and readiness, our expert guides will provide activities and instruction in foundational literacy skills including letter sound recognition, basic letter formation, and vocabulary development.
Math concepts are learned through hands-on, interactive activities in our primary classroom. Children will grapple with numeracy concepts. Through this process they will learn number identification, seek out patterns, and explore the concepts of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
In cultural studies, children will learn how to become a part of a greater community. Through history and geography they will learn about the beautifully diverse world in which they live, and will engage in activities infused with music, science, and art.
A prepared environment that promotes development and independence
In our classroom, you’ll find students who are active and independent learners, nurtured by the Montessori education system in Celina. These students know how to self-monitor and correct themselves, thanks to the expert modeling our guides provide. Through their learning, children build awareness and concentration, as well as develop social and emotional skills alongside their academic learning. The community is loving, accepting, and built on mutual trust and respect.
Our Approach
Our Program is designed to promote the holistic development of the child
The teacher facilitates individualized lessons and learning experiences based on the child’s interests, as well as developmental and academic needs.
Children learn by interacting with their world. In Montessori classrooms we provide authentic, relevant, and interactive learning experiences that help them deeply connect with the real life experiences.
The blending of ages in one classroom is founded on Maria Montessori’s philosophy and creates an environment where learning becomes natural through interaction between younger and older children.
In our classroom, older peers model how to work together, help others, and take ownership of their learning. These skills help children to embrace responsibility, become a leader for others, and have a positive impact on their community.
We are a diverse community of students, parents, and staff. Our students learn to appreciate one another’s differences. We value kindness, caring for others, and treating others the way we want to be treated. Montessori education seeks to nurture the growth of social awareness and empathy in children from an early age.
